For the uninitiated, the game “Call of Cthulhu” is based on a universe created by the author H. P. Lovecraft. Lovecraft penned many works of horror in the 1920s and became something of a cult phenomenon after his death.

Cthulhu, invented by Lovecraft, is one of the otherworldly “Great Old Ones” who sleeps beneath the sea. He will remain in this slumber until his followers manage to wake and summon him, at which point he will bring insanity, death and destruction upon our world.

Cthulhu is described as being a scaly, octopus-headed monstrosity, with the wings of a dragon and huge talons. He’s also several stories tall, apparently, but I scaled him down a bit for this cartoon.

I was wondering what would happen if Cthulhu awoke and decided to make a pit-stop at an upscale restaurant before raining all that craziness upon us lowly humans. I mean, you’d be hungry, too, after sleeping for thousands of years, right?

In my goofy imagination, these hapless waiters have a problem on their hands.

Something tells me they aren’t going to get a very good tip…
